Cheap Thrill

So I am absolutely in love with Eric Jerome Dickey.

I am on Facebook as are half of the world! And so is Eric! Yay. Of course I am on his friends…I can’t get enough. So while I was on one day it popped up that he was online and available to chat. Oh my goodness! I was so excited. But what do you say that captures his attention when there could be like 5000 people trying to talk to him at the same time? I just typed…and my heart pounded. I am not crazy over famous people, but I was so nervous to talk with him. He chatted me up for a quick couple of minutes and I was so happy. What an honor on my part to speak with a man that I idolize.

I say this because I can’t seem to get enough of him. Okay, not him, but his books. I picked one up by chance while standing in line at Walmart. Someone had left it lying there, after they had changed their mind about buying it. Who was this person? I wish I could thank you. I love reading, but I do find it difficult to find a book that keeps my attention and has me wanting to buy more.

With EJD’s books, I can’t put them down. I turn the pages until my husband turns the lights out on me. I started my first book, Chasing Destiny, and it was one of his newer books. I read backwards, making my way to his first book! He has a new one, Resurrecting Midnight, coming out this month and you better believe, I am going to get it. This man has amazing talent and he is my idol. I can only wish to be like him.

If you haven’t read his books, go buy one and get lost in his amazing escape of thieves, con artists, cheaters, liars, and everyday hardworking citizens.

While Your title indicates “cheap thrill”, I contemplate the thought that books and their stories often leave the reader with a “profound message” as well. I am glad that you love this author. Often times when I read too many novels by one author, I get tired of reading the same old stuff…. you can begin to predict things. I haven’t found any books lately that I couldn’t put down.
